WNBA rookie Angel Reese parlayed media fame into endorsement deals with big-name brands, like Amazon, PlayStation, Airbnb and now, Reebok, as the face of its new foray into basketball.
With those sponsorships, Reese has earned both a secure financial future and an ability to give back — to Baltimore, her home city, and Baton Rouge, a place she called her “second home”.
Reese funded the entire event herself, along with the school supplies gifted to local teachers. And through her foundation, she plans to design an online financial literacy course geared toward high school students in the area.
Through most of last season, Reese kept her circle tight.
Then came tax season.
Reese was simply receiving too many media requests, partnering with too many brands and making too much money for her and her mother to keep track of it all. So they brought in a few extra hands:
Once the money hits Reese’s bank account, Jamel Barnes, a Denver-based financial adviser, keeps tabs on the finances for both Reese and her foundation, advising her on how much she should save for tax purposes and how much she should set aside for herself.

Now, as the newest member of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, Reese is one of basketball’s brightest superstars, already making a significant impact both on and off the court. Reese brings major brand partnerships with her to the professional level, including Reebok, Beats, Mielle, Tampax, Good American, and more, as she continues to level the playing field and push boundaries and opportunities for female athletes forward. Reese was connected with Power FC through her business advisors, Jamel Barnes of DBA Management and Jeanine Ogbonnaya of The Clearview Group.
